With over 1200 fixtures played each year and 200 sports teams, there is a large and diverse range of sports providing opportunities to develop leisure interests that will last students a lifetime. We are a six-day-a-week school, and sport is played on Saturday afternoon for all year groups except Years 7 and 8 who have sport, including fixtures, during the week.

performance
Over 80 students represent teams at county to national level each year including age group internationals. We regularly compete in national competitions across a broad range of sports including cross country, hockey, netball, sailing, shooting, squash, and tennis, while the rugby teams are county champions and winners of the Sussex and Kent Independent Schools’ League (SKIL) on a regular basis at multiple age groups.

Sennocke Centre
Sport takes place in the Sennocke Centre, our multi-million pound sports venue. The facilities include a 25m six-lane swimming pool, fitness suite and weights room, studio, three glass-backed squash courts, three indoor tennis courts, an eight-court sports hall, rock and rope climbing area, physiotherapy room and a servery/meeting room. Outdoor amenities include an athletics track, tennis courts, floodlit hard courts and Astro and grass pitches with pavilions.

Sport Performance programme and Scholarships
Sevenoaks is keen to support every student’s ambition to develop their potential in performance sport. To this end, we have established a Sports Performance Programme which provides access to coaching and ancillary support. Most of our Sport Scholars participate in the programme, but any student serious about working towards sporting excellence can apply for the programme.
The programme holistic and includes one-to-one coaching sessions, individualised mentoring sessions, access to nutrition advice, athletic development, specialist seminars, physiotherapists and sports psychologists. Mentoring aims to help students maintain the balance between academic work and sport as well as providing support in all aspects of the higher education journey with several scholars at Sevenoaks commonly combining representation at national level with admission to a UK Russell Group or prestigious US university.
