Congratulations to our U16 and U19 musicians who are 2022 Pro Corda Chamber Champions.
This year, 22 chamber groups from 17 schools were selected for the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Festival for Schools finals, in four age categories: U12, U14, U16 and U19. Sevenoaks School, with three groups, was the most represented school in the finals.
Pro Corda’s national Chamber Music Festival is an annual celebration of chamber music in schools, with three rounds – local, regional and national. Ensembles perform and afterwards receive a short coaching session from top UK chamber musicians.
The Sevenoaks finalists were:
U14 – Orphée Patricot, Eve Ward, Eva Li and Luna Bolton U16 – Lachlan Edwards, Alex Vuilleumier, Ansh Soni and Nathan Lee U19 – James King, Valerie Huang and Malek Marar
Sevenoaks School have been Pro Corda finalists every year from 2010, receiving the Pro Corda trophy in 2011, the Schools’ Trophy in 2016 and the Founder’s Trophy (for the Director of Music) in 2013. Sevenoaks musicians were Under 19 Chamber Champions in 2018 and U16 Chamber Champions in 2020.
