Due to the teaching strikes, we moved our meet-up day this spring online. Students were able to choose which sessions to attend and enjoyed the informative workshops on offer.
In the morning Mark Beverley, from the Institute for Teaching and Learning at Sevenoaks School delivered a session all about revision skills.
In the afternoon there were two different workshops on offer. The first was delivered by the National Gallery’s team who work on the Articulation Prize. Students were given a crash-course in public speaking and then worked in breakout rooms to research and create a short presentation on a painting.
The second option, delivered by the Pathways CTM, explored students’ choices after school, and they were able to ask questions about anything from apprenticeships to gap years.
Finally, for our aspiring medics we teamed up with Kent and Medway Medical School to offer an information session about applying for medical degrees.
