Our annual Careers Fair last Thursday was a fantastic event, with over 100 Old Sennockians, parents and friends of the school meeting students from Years 11 and 12 to share their knowledge and career experience.
Feedback from both students and volunteers was excellent, with students noting the valuable conversations they had and the new insights gained. Our volunteers were very impressed by the students and their engagement. One parent said, ‘As always the pupils were a credit to the school and it’s inspiring to talk to them’ with another adding, ‘I really enjoyed the evening. The students are always a real delight to talk to. They seemed more flexible and excited by the opportunities available to them, and less worried about decision making.’
This year’s fair saw an ever-expanding range of career sectors and industries represented, including aviation, asset management, banking, biopharmaceuticals, charities, civil engineering, communications, cyber security, education, energy, finance, fintech, government, healthcare, insurance, investment banking, IT, legal, medicine, media, marketing, property, public health, retail, science, technology, venture capital and veterinary medicine.
We would like to reiterate our thanks to all volunteers for their time, and for facilitating these greatly helpful conversations with our students.
