A chilly night on campus has so far raised over £1100 for charity, thanks to a group of students and staff who took part in this year’s Big Sleep Out.
Last Friday, 32 students and eight staff members slept on the ground outside Cottage Block to support Porchlight, Kent’s largest homelessness charity, and to raise awareness of homelessness.
Porchlight are marking their 50th anniversary and the number of people facing and experiencing homelessness is higher than it’s ever been, due to soaring rents, the cost of living crisis, and recent cuts to funding.
