Sevenoaks is a progressive, imaginative and academic school with a global outlook. Our unique curriculum is designed to provide coherence, balance and breadth, generating an appetite for learning and discovery in our students, and encouraging them to develop strong cultural awareness, a determination to be an influence for good, and a capacity for work, leadership and collaboration.
We want our students to learn how to study and work effectively on their own, and also how to contribute as part of a group; to listen in lessons, but also to speak and present. We want them to be as confident in the technologies of tablet, cloud and smartphone as they are with book, paper and pen. They should learn how to collaborate without copying, how to debate while still listening and how enthusiasm and curiosity are the best tools to combat cynicism and self-interest.
Our examination results are excellent, but this is not our primary purpose. High grades are a happy by-product of good education, and if we can enable students to leave school with outstanding qualifications too, then so much the better.
The character of our learning is shaped by the character of the school: we are modern, unstuffy, co-educational and international, and so is the education we provide.
