Sailing
Izzy Johnson had a great summer competing in the Topper Worlds at Lake Garda, Italy in July. There were 144 boats and Izzy exceeded her expectations by coming 17th overall and placed as the second girl at the event. This was quite an achievement, and she was really pleased that her hard work during last season came together.
Izzy also sailed in the Firefly Nationals which is an open adult event. She was crewing for her father, Old Sennockian Dom Johnson, and came eighth overall, a highlight being winning one of the races.
Izzy also joined the Sevenoaks school first team for the BSDRA school team racing final where they were the second placed school.
Martin Atilla finished 18th at the Laser Class Youth World Champs in Texas out of 156 sailors. He also finished 11th at the Youth World Champs in The Netherlands which is the event where you have one sailor per country.
We also had several Sevenoaks sailors help with a Ukrainian refugee sailing day at Chipstead which was really special, and they were all very helpful.
