Archery
Archery is enjoyed as a Sixth Form sports option due to its highly inclusive nature. It provides the opportunity for students to learn and hone excellent shooting technique with the help of Archery GB-qualified instructors.
Athletic Development
The athletic development programme provides opportunity for any student at school to explore principles of athletic development, to either underpin physical preparation to support endeavours in sport performance or exploring health and fitness for its own sake.
Athletics
Athletics at Sevenoaks is open to all students regardless of age, ability or previous experience, and athletes are encouraged to participate across a range of disciplines.
Badminton
Badminton is a popular sport for Sennockians and there are several opportunities to play both recreationally and more competitively with regular matches against other schools.
Basketball
Our basketball programme is designed to help students of all skill levels develop their skills while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game. It is open to all students in the school, from beginners to advanced players. Our experienced coaches work with all players in skill development while placing a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
Climbing
Indoor climbing has been deservedly popular since the first climbing wall was installed at the school in 1993. The newer, purpose-built facility now hosts climbing as a sport option as well as after-school clubs. For the keen rock athlete, the school also enters teams in local and national competitions.
Cricket
Cricket is a popular and thriving sport at Sevenoaks. Boys and girls of all abilities enjoy a professional and varied coaching programme throughout the year run. Consistently voted one of the Top 100 cricket schools in the UK by The Cricketer magazine, Sevenoaks cricket encourages players of all abilities and provides top-class coaching.
Cross Country
With over 90 participants in competition and training, the cross country team at Sevenoaks is thriving. With the beautiful Knole Park adjacent, and an athletics track on site, training takes place with excellent facilities and enthusiastic, knowledgeable coaches.
Fencing
Fencing has quickly increased in popularity at Sevenoaks School and we currently have fencers with a wide range of ability from complete beginners to those who fence internationally.
Football
Football is played by boys and girls across both the Michaelmas and Lent terms. We compete in numerous friendly fixtures as well as county, regional and national tournaments.
Golf
Golf becomes a games option at Sevenoaks from Year 11 onwards and has been growing in popularity within the school over the last few years. We also run an after-school club on Wednesdays for those in Years 7-10 to introduce them to the game and prepare a pathway into the school team as students progress up the school.
Hockey
Whether you have never picked up a stick before or are striving for a future Olympic Games hockey at Sevenoaks has the simple aim to inspire a love for the sport and help fulfil your potential as a player.
Netball
With 35 netball teams across the school, opportunity and performance underpins the netball programme. From beginners to the sport to representative honours across performance franchise netball, Sevenoaks supports all students in their development both on and off the court.
Rugby
Rugby Union has long been a tradition across our physical education and games programme at Sevenoaks School. We believe truly that rugby is sport for everyone, the game’s values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship, can help to produce well-rounded students, who are confident, resilient, and aspirational.
Sailing
Sevenoaks is undoubtedly the school to beat when it comes to sailing, winning the school national championships 16 times in the last 20 years. Sailing continues all year round from Year 9 through to the Upper Sixth and complete beginners are welcome to have a go.
Shooting
We strive to promote the values of discipline, precision, and focus through the sport of shooting. We provide a safe and enjoyable environment that encourages students to develop their skills and passion for the sport, regardless of their level of experience.
Squash
Squash is quickly increasing in popularity at Sevenoaks. As well as being a lot of fun, it teaches players some important life skills, helps grow confidence, and build resilience.
Swimming
Swimming has grown from strength to strength over the last 20 years producing many elite swimmers and team successes at national level. Available to all students in the school, Sevenoaks has impressive training facilities with a 25-metre swimming pool situated in the Sennocke Centre. Regular galas foster great team spirit, help develop respect, resilience, enjoyment and ensure an environment to flourish.
Tennis
Sevenoaks has a fantastic reputation for tennis. Our superb facilities and dynamic coaching team ensures tennis can be played all year round.
Volleyball
Volleyball has quickly become one of the most popular sports amongst the students. The programme is designed to allow students of all abilities to develop their skills and several alumni are now playing at university level, including Cambridge and Oxford. This is an inclusive and fun sport which students can play all year round.
Yoga
Yoga at Sevenoaks is a regular sports option for Sixth Form students. We teach a mixture of Vinyasa and Hatha-style yoga, with the aim to build strength and flexibility. Yoga is open to all levels of experience, from complete beginners to experienced yogis.
