Clubs and Activities

Sevenoaks has an enormous and enriching variety of clubs and societies which stretch and engage pupils, enabling them to discover new passions or pursue their existing interests.  The emphasis at Sevenoaks is very much on encouraging students to take ownership of their area of interest: producing ideas and driving the club forwards, making each society a success.

70+

different clubs and societies on offer

We aim to offer a broad, interesting and diverse range of regular clubs, so that every Sevenoaks student can try out and find new passions and interests. In so doing, we hope they will develop new skills, and make new friends. This programme also encourages character and leadership development by giving students confidence (and, where appropriate, autonomy) to run their own society in their area of interest.

Whilst the Sevenoaks offer includes more traditional clubs such as debating, Model United Nations, choral society, chess and table tennis, we are proud of our more alternative clubs such as cosmic mining, stage design, fantasy tabletop games, pride society, and beats and tracks.

“No matter what topic, there is always someone, be it student or teacher, that I can always find who shares the same interest or enthusiasm that I do in that area. Often you don’t have to look at all!”

The schedule of regular clubs and societies is ever-changing and growing. Each year many new student-led societies are also on offer, such as: world today, untold histories, street dance club, textiles club, finance society, STEMinist society, the John Peel society.

Students sign up for clubs at the start of each term and are encouraged to balance this with their schoolwork, with the support and encouragement of their tutor.
